Egypt Visa Guide for Indian Travellers
From the timeless Pyramids of Giza to the vibrant coral reefs of the Red Sea, Egypt is a bucket-list destination. While entry is straightforward, specific health and document rules apply to Indian citizens. Skyway Tours & Travels assists you with E-Visas and ensures you have all the mandatory health certificates for a hassle-free arrival.
⚠️ Mandatory Health Rule: Polio Vaccination
Travellers arriving from India are frequently required to show a valid Polio Vaccination Certificate (OPV/IPV) taken at least 4 weeks before travel. Failure to produce this may result in on-the-spot vaccination or entry denial. Ensure you carry your "Yellow Card" or WHO certificate.
Visa Types for Indian Nationals
1. Electronic Visa (E-Visa)
The most convenient option for Indian tourists. You can apply online and receive the visa via email.
- Validity: 30 Days Single Entry or 90 Days Multiple Entry.
- Processing Time: Typically 5 to 7 working days.
- Requirement: Valid passport and confirmed itinerary.
2. Visa on Arrival (Conditional)
Most Indians DO NOT qualify for standard Visa on Arrival. You only qualify IF:
- You hold a valid and used visa from the USA, UK, Schengen, Japan, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
- The supporting visa must be valid at the time of entry into Egypt.
3. Sticker Visa
If you prefer a physical visa or do not qualify for the above, we can assist with the embassy submission process in India.
Essential Documents Required
To ensure smooth processing, please organize:
- Passport: Valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date.
- Polio Certificate: WHO-valid certificate (mandatory for arrivals from India).
- Flight & Hotel: Confirmed return tickets and hotel vouchers are required for the E-Visa.
- Bank Statements: Proof of sufficient funds is often checked at immigration.

Common Questions
Do I need to show cash at the airport?
While there is no fixed "show money" amount, Immigration officers may ask to see proof of funds (cash or credit cards) to ensure you can support your stay.
Is the Yellow Fever vaccine mandatory?
Only if you are arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic country (like Kenya or Brazil). If flying directly from India, it is usually not required, but Polio is.
Can I get a visa on arrival with a Dubai residence visa?
Generally, GCC residence visas alone do not grant Visa on Arrival access for Indians. You need a US/UK/Schengen visa or a pre-approved E-Visa.
